History

Gonzalez Funeral Home and CrematoryWhen Alberto and Paula Molina González decided to move from Laredo to Dallas in 1946, little did they know that their strong work ethic, family values and goals were laying the foundation for their family's future. Alberto Sr. had only a 6th grade education, yet he possessed a tremendous entrepreneurial spirit that his sons would inherit.

In time, Alberto became a great insurance salesman and then a highly successful independent real estate investor. This success informed his goals for his children: a better education, a better life and, most importantly, a dream that his sons would also become independent businessmen.

A father's dream come true

Alberto and Paula's children, Albert Jr. and Frank, both obtained the 1st González family goal: an excellent education in the Dallas parochial school system. Albert then graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science while Frank graduated from Southern Methodist University.

With strong educational backgrounds and solid Dallas roots, the González sons, with their father's advice, direction and motivation, entered the funeral business in 1977, when they opened González Funeral Home and Crematory. Alberto Sr. believed that the Hispanic community in Dallas was not getting the quality service and care that it deserved. He envisioned a market that was about to explode in size and soon become truly Hispanic.

Specializing in serving the Hispanic community

The González brothers recognized the unique cultural, economic and religious needs of the Hispanic community, and they expanded the size and services of their business to meet those needs. The strong family ties of their González upbringing became the springboard for providing honest, quality service.

Before Alberto Sr. died in April 2004, his proudest moment was seeing his grandchildren continue the family legacy alongside their fathers. His values of hard work, humility and dedication were instilled in his family and will continue for generations.

González Funeral Home and Crematory is a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of obituary, funeral, burial, cremation and cemetery service providers. Our team will always offer quality, compassionate care and service you can trust.
